Ich biete Neubau, Reparatur und Restaurierung für Geige, Bratsche, Cello und Kontrabass in Berlin an. Mein Ziel ist es, Instrumente von hoher Langlebigkeit zu schaffen, die einen authentischen Klang besitzen und ihren individuellen Charakter dauerhaft bewahren.
Der optimale Klang. Das ist etwas, das wir gemeinsam in meinem Atelier erarbeiten – sorgfältig angepasst an Ihre Vorstellungen und die Einzigartigkeit Ihres Instruments. Denn die meisten guten Dinge brauchen vor allem eins: Zeit.
Manche behaupten: „So entsteht ein guter Klang.“ oder „Meine Instrumente erzeugen einen guten Klang.“ Auf solche absoluten Aussagen lege ich keinen Wert. Denn was wirklich zählt, ist, wie individuell ein Instrument auf die Bedürfnisse und Vorstellungen jedes Musikers abgestimmt wird.
Jede meiner Arbeiten beginnt mit einer klaren Frage: Warum mache ich diese Arbeit so, und weiß ich, was ich erreichen möchte?Fast keine Arbeit wird ohne diese Frage durchgeführt. Musikinstrumente sind Werkzeuge, die den persönlichen Ausdruck eines Musikers zum Leben erwecken. Jedes Instrument hat seine eigene Geschichte und Persönlichkeit. Deshalb ist der Dialog mit Ihnen als Musikerin oder Musiker für mich zentral, um ein Ergebnis zu erzielen, das langlebig und musikalisch bleibt.
Zum Schluss möchte ich meine wichtigste Philosophie teilen:
Am Ende des Tages geht es doch einfach darum, dass man den Geigenbau nicht zu ernst nehmen sollte – genau das möchte ich klarstellen. Keine Geige der Welt wird Krebs oder AIDS heilen; es sind bloß Musikinstrumente. Also erzähl mir bitte nichts vom perfekten Schwung der Schnecke oder von eleganten Ecken – die sind einfach nur zum Spielen da. Genau deshalb mache ich mich gern darüber lustig. Denn ganz egal, wie speziell sie aussehen mögen – am Ende bleiben es einfach Musikinstrumente. Alles wurde irgendwie schon einmal gemacht; entscheidend ist allein, wie man das persönlich anpackt.

I offer violin making, repair, and restoration for violin, viola, cello, and double bass in Berlin. My goal is to create instruments with lasting durability, authentic sound, and a permanently preserved individual character.
The optimal sound—this is something we develop together in my atelier, carefully adapted to your vision and the uniqueness of your instrument. Because most good things, above all, require one thing: Time.
Some say, “That’s how you achieve good sound,” or “That’s because my instruments sound good.” Well, I don’t value such absolutes. For me, the focus is not on such statements. What truly matters is how individually an instrument is adjusted to the needs and vision of each musician.
Every project begins with a clear question: Why am I doing this work in this particular way, and do I know what I want to achieve? Almost no task is started without asking this question. Musical instruments are tools that bring a musician’s personal expression to life. Each instrument has its own story and personality. That’s why dialogue with you, as a musician, is central to me—to ensure a result that remains durable and musical.
Finally, I’d like to share my core philosophy:
At the end of the day, violin making shouldn’t be taken too seriously—and that’s exactly what I want to make clear. No violin in the world will cure cancer or AIDS; they are simply musical instruments. So please don’t tell me about the perfect curve of the scroll or elegant corners—they’re simply there to be played. That’s exactly why I like to have a laugh about it. No matter how special they may look, in the end, they’re simply musical instruments. Everything has somehow been done before; the only thing that matters is how you personally approach it.
